Panorama offers an opportunity – two of them, actually – to take a 360-degree tour of the world’s finest animated cinema in one 90-minute screening!The panorama programme has become wide-ranging overview of the crème de la crème world’s animations, which were omitted from the competition programme but which have nevertheless earned a place in the festival programme.

The panorama is meant for devoted animation aficionados and for audiences for whom animation is still undiscovered territory but who’d like to go on a whirlwind tour of the last year in animation.

Tulkou

France 2013, 11' - dir: Sami Guellaï, Mohamed Fadera, prod: Les Films du Poisson Rouge

When Papou, an old fisherman from the islands, catches a Tulkou in his nets, he makes a most curious choice: he decides to bring him back home to make a friend of him. Totally excited by the changes this new companion brings in his life, the old man doesn't notices that the creature is too different from him…and has started dying.

Eva Cvijanovic's pen-and-ink drawings subtly conjure a dreamlike ambience that pulses like a quiet tide in this animated maritime escapade set to traditional Croatian music.

Animated documentary which uses the voices and drawings of a group of children who live in a clinic in India. The guitar, the dances, a trip to the sea, the cats Sweety and Kitty, and the sisters who look after them are just some of the treasures and dreams which the children keep hidden under the pillow.

A Girl Named Elastika

A requiem for all childhood pets who have found their end in the most curious of circumstances. One by one they get revisited as the main character takes a trip down memory lane.

The Little Blond boy with a white sheep

France 2013, 6'40" - dir: Eloi Henriod, prod: Metronomic

It's school time again. During a writing test, Pierre escapes his grey school by recalling the happy memories of his holidays spent with his sheep.
