The international student animation programme includes examples from the world’s best animation schools. Student film in the context of animation doesn’t have to mean amateur cinema; it is often higher in quality and more courageous and professional than some major films from established studios. Guests are from Turku Arts Academy in Finland, the Royal College of Art in England, the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Israel, La Poudrière in France, the Academy of Art and Design St. Joost in Denmark, Tama Art University in Japan, the Film and Television University "Konrad Wolf" (HFF) in Germany, Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Switzerland and many more. The international student animation programme has often received the highest ratings from festival goers due specifically to its innovativeness, youthful energy and the students’ fresh love for and devotion to animated film. The international student animation programme is certainly one of the festivals with the most diverse programme in the whole festival line-up and reflects trends in modern animation, dealing with salient topics in the lives of today’s younger generations.

Petya is waking up, meeting a bird and together they watch the duck swimming in the lake.The grandpa gets upset that Petya left so he fetches him up and try to punish him. Meanwhile comes the wolf and eats the duck. Petya and the bird kill him. Short classic frame by frame water-colour animation based on a musical tale

OPHELIA: LOVE & PRIVACY SETTINGS - Germany 2013, 3'41", dir/prod: Bin Han To

How exposed and public can your thoughts become before it gets embarrassing? Which dirty thoughts could get you into trouble? That's the problem of our protagonist Hubert. Anyone can clearly read his thoughts in a speech balloon floating above his head. In our film we accompany him on his challenging search for a girlfriend. A comedy about "The End of Privacy".

Jeanine and Alain are French with Algerian roots. They live in northern France, where they have created a Mediterranean-style garden.

It was autumn when I arrived in Germany. I thought that in this exotic country I could distance myself a little bit from Mexico, but I was wrong. Drug traffickers managed to take me back in a ruthless way. A short animated documentary about the drug-related violence in Mexico.

A castaway finds himself washed ashore a beach at the foot of a towering city. His curiosity draws him into the urban expanse he finds before him. Whilst in the city he tries to get in touch with the society. However the characters he meets are strange, superficial and snippy, and after a series of unfortunate events he finds himself a castaway once more.
