Late Night Sci-Fi

Sometimes it seems that science fiction and shorts are a difficult mix. Good sci-fi deals with the grandiose, the big ideas, the spectacular examinations of our future. Shorts, however, deal with the intimate, the tinier moments that – when magnified – become compelling. This programme proves otherwise.

These sci-fi-tinged offerings manage to run the gamut from big budget SFX, worthy of any Hollywood blockbuster, to family dramas predicated around the end of the world. With an enormous amount of playfulness around genre – alongside a healthy dose of humour – it does seem quite appropriate to state that these shorts are indeed out of this world.
