In a small town with 2,000 people, of which more than half are over 60, everyone is living without hope or pride for the future. One day a young staff member at the agricultural cooperative suggests an idea of “Leaf Business”. The "Leaf Business" aims to make a profit from growing and selling wild plants that are used as garnish on Japanese dish. The idea is mocked by people, but three women decide to give it a try to make a difference in the lives of them and their lonesome town. Eventually, the “Leaf Business” grows into a 260 million yen business. The power of grannies gives courage and hope to the viewers!

Japan Month is a series of events that take place for a month starting in September. The aim is to introduce the wonderful culture of Japan to those who are interested in knowing more about the land of the rising sun. There will be different presentations, workshops, movie nights etc. We will also be having a few events in Tallinn.
